Face your fear!

When I hear this often on T.V or in books or from someone, I always feel that they sort of bully you into doing something you are scared of. But if you are afraid of something and avoid it, unfortunately it does not go away, you know? So what do you do? FACE IT! I know its easier said than done. But if you think about it, its all in the mind like many other things in life. I realize you just need to deal with it. For all you know, it may not be so bad and you could be worrying about it unnecessarily. Its common sense, isn't it?

Where is all this enlightenment coming from? As part of a training program at work, I participated in a 'Personality Development' workshop and the gentleman who trained us mentioned that the first step towards doing anything is to write it down. So this is my first step towards facing my fear! Voila! :-).

I worry incessantly and I hate that about me. I was not always like this, but recently I worry too much and fear unnecessarily. I want to let go of fear. I will let go fear! I can let go fear! I am going to keep telling myself that and one day....whoooshh...its gone!

I will let go of my fear. NOW. TODAY. PERIOD.

okay Pretty Woman, this is sheer coincidence,I guess! I too was thinking about changing or improving the quality of my life. Towards that end, I am attending this course called Landmark Education ( www.landmarkeducation.com) I have not yet attended the course but when I signed up, they asked me what are the things that I am looking to change or improve in my life. The moment I articulated it, it felt like a big pressure had been lifted off my shoulders. The mere act of saying that I want to improve something puts us in a positive state of mind, doesn't it?

I am glad that you wrote your fear down. That is a first and SUCH a big step. :) Let us know how you progress! Good luck!

Good luck and I will probably post about how my experience with Landmark has been! I am excited about it!

I think too often in life we chase perfection or utopia..well the truth is there isn't one. There is no perfect thing, situation, person, relationship or state of being, except maybe God.

The idea is to make the existing thing as close to what we wish to see...or be in..peace of mind is greatly enhanced by acceptance of a situation.

Vidya,

Wow! I checked out that website and it does seem like a great step forward! I hope it works out for you....do let me know how it goes...

Like most things for me, its only a question of changing my mind....which sometimes does not really take long once I decide to do it! I just need to make up my mind and I WILL! :)

Gyanban,

You are a new visitor here! :) I agree to some extent....I also want to say that I am not looking for perfection...I know that this fear in me is unnecessary...I just want to work towards eliminating it...

Also, sometimes you should not just accept the situation, you must fight it.....( though i do get what you meant by experiencing the emotion/situation)...
