....Just a fun tag!

I saw this interesting tag on Preeti's blog and decided to do it, just for fun! Here we go!

 1.   Would you rather go into the past and meet your ancestors or go into the future and meet your great-great grandchildren?

I think I would like to meet my great-great grandchildren coz I am very curious to know how they turn out, how they look....are they a reflection of us? I am sure I would have at least seen some pictures or heard stories about my ancestors from my parents and grandparents. So this would be a good opportunity to have a glimpse of my future ( generations!).

2. Would you rather have more time or more money?

More time, for sure. You can make money any time. After all, time is money!

3. Would you rather have a rewind button or a pause button on your life?

Hmmmmm.....honestly neither! I am someone who makes up her mind pretty quickly about important decisions and once I have made up my mind, I never look back. I have no regrets, PERIOD. So why would i like a rewind button?
As for the pause button, how will I ever know what will happen in the future? You should always look forward, not be stuck in a time warp!

4.   Would you rather be able to talk with the animals or speak all foreign languages?

I would love to speak all foreign languages, its awesome to be a multi-linguist. I am not too much of an animal person, i guess.

5.  Would you rather win the lottery or live twice as long?

Definitely win the lottery! Isn't one lifetime enough already?

6.  Would you feel worse if no one showed up to your wedding or to your funeral?

Yes I would. I definitely care for my loved ones and I would want the ones I love to be there - for both! They are important milestones in one's life and when I get married, I would love to have all their good wishes and blessings. When I die, I will know how much i was loved and missed!

7. Would you rather be without internet for a week, or without your phone?

Without my phone. I can't live without the internet - I do a lot of professional and personal interactions via the cyberspace.

8.  Would you rather meet George Washington, or the current President?

Why would I want to meet American Presidents? Honestly, I would love to meet our very own Mr. APJ Abdum Kalam and Mr. Narendra Modi, our outstanding Indian leaders.

9.  Would you rather lose your vision or your hearing?

Ha ha...what a weird question! I would love to hear and see only good things. I would prefer losing the ability to see /hear evil , negative things maybe?

10. Would you rather work more hours per day, but fewer days or work fewer hours per day, but more days?

I love a good work-life balance. So I think work more hours per day, but fewer days.

11. Would you rather listen to music from the 70’s or music from today?

I wasn't even born in the 70's! So definitely music from today....I am an ardent fan of A.R.Rahman and anything melodious, calming or energizing - depends on my mood.

12.Would you rather become someone else or just stay you?

I am someone who is in love with myself. So Always ME!

13.Would you rather be Batman or Spiderman?

Batman, for sure! He works towards becoming a superhero and is someone you can relate to, replete with fears like any other human being.

14. Would you rather be stuck on a broken ski lift or in a broken elevator?

Neither! Why would i want to be stuck anywhere?

15.  For your birthday, would you rather receive cash or gifts?

Gifts, for sure and especially if its something I love. I'd rather someone would make an effort to go buy me a gift or try to learn what I love rather than conveniently just hand over cash to me.

This was fun...you are welcome to pick up the tag, whoever reads this. I would love to read yours too! Please comment on this blog if and when you do.

Unraveling the bad temper in me?

Thethoughtfultrain has tagged me. She describes me with such flattering words that I had to look twice if she was really referring to me? See, the blog doesn't show the hot-headed side of me, that's why!! I am pretty short tempered...but I like to think I have mellowed down over time, experiences and of course, S's calm influence. Now, the secret is out, if anything the tag, for sure will...

Tag: I have to list 10 things that make me mad/seething with anger. (That's not too difficult!)

  1. It really pisses me off when people spit on the road, scribble on public property and throw garbage on the roads/monuments/scenic places of beauty and generally make my country ( any country for that matter) dirty! I want to walk up to them and say 'Hell, Pick it up right now!'.
  2. I detest people who make personal comments and make fun of others without any consideration for their feelings or any empathy ( of course, harmless teasing or ribbing is fun!). It has to be funny and fun for all parties concerned, not just you!
  3. I hate it when fellow Indians abroad ( or even in India for that matter) make derogatory comments about my beautiful country in order to 'fit in' or whatever the reason! I wonder what have you done to improve the situation? Is there any 'perfect' country? Why don't YOU do something about it instead of simply complaining?
  4. I despise sexist comments such as 'Oh! Women always gossip!' or 'Men are such chauvinists!'.I have known women being chauvinistic and hell, men gossip a lot! I believe we are what we are due to our upbringing, friends and surroundings. It has nothing to do with being a man or a woman!
  5. I judge people who do not have clean home and bathrooms. I don't mean fancy interiors or stuff like that, I mean just keeping your home clean and cheerful. Your home reflects your personality and if its not clean, doesn't speak much for your personality either!
  6. It gets my goat when people do not teach their kids their mother-tongue if they are living abroad or in a different city. It is important to know your roots ( and easier for grandparents to interact with the kids), I will ensure my child speaks his/her mother-tongue apart from other languages.
  7. I cannot imagine how some parents can snigger or laugh when their kids are disrespectful to others or misbehave in public and actually laugh about it. What do the kids learn? Whom do they look up to, as they grow up?
  8. I don't like it when people relegate certain chores to women. Especially when people ask as soon as you get married, 'So do you cook?' or 'Any good news?'. There is nothing wrong if men can cook if women can have a career! My plans to start a family is a private matter that I am not comfortable discussing with all and sundry! When I do, you will know! Why is it that you don't question the men about starting a family? After all, It takes two to tango!!
  9. I don't appreciate it when you assume that I am running after money if I am working/have a career. I am not judging you for not working, so let's reciprocate the feeling? To each his own, I am happy doing what I do...PERIOD.
  10. Sometimes, it irritates me when people are indecisive about little things like choice of food, movie and such like. Its not a life threatening decision, do it fast!! I know its unfair to judge, coz most of the times I am sure about what I want, so I get impatient when people do that! :-)
There, I let out all my frustrations. I am not tagging anyone with this, of course, feel free to take it up and let me know! I will visit your blog to read, for sure!! I had fun doing this, thank you once again, Thethoughtfultrain! :-)

25 random things about me!

My friend Sudha, has tagged me on Facebook to do this tag. The rules of the tag are:

Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

  1. I am never lost for words and make friends very easily.I tend to give the impression that I am close to everyone but in reality I have very few close friends.
  2. I am a narcissist who loves to look at herself!
  3. I love tall, suave and intelligent men.
  4. I believe that S is the best thing that ever happened to me. He perfectly complements the 'hyper' me.
  5. I am a classically trained singer and can sing reasonably well.
  6. A highly emotional person, am very expressive about my feelings for everyone.
  7. WYSWIG ( What you see is what you get).
  8. I am an open book; very transparent and easy to read, even to a stranger!
  9. Lots of people assume that I am arrogant and over-confident looking at my personality. I would like to think I am confident, definitely not arrogant. So i tend to make an extra effort to appear friendly.
  10. I envy people who are naturally slim, who don't really need to make an effort to look that way!
  11. I am very enthusiastic and get really excited about even little things in life and believe that's what makes every day and moment interesting.
  12. I strongly believe its important that you love and respect yourself before you expect others to show love/respect for you. So I do LOVE myself :P .
  13. Music is a quintessential part of my life and I believe is highly theraupatic.
  14. I am a very bad judge of character; I hope to get better over the years.
  15. I have understood that I have a blessed life unlike so many other unfortunate people and am thankful for the life i have...Indeed, I am contented.
  16. I love the smell of babies; their innocence.
  17. I enjoy every phase in my life; be it school or college or now that I am working. I never feel that I want to go back to a phase in the past.
  18. You can always find a permanent grin on my face and sometimes, my mouth hurts from all the talking!
  19. I am a people's person. I love to meet new people and many of my friends come to me for advice. I am everyone's agony aunt! ( I am glad to help in anyway i can!)
  20. I am very good with interiors and home decor. I hope to run my own business someday!
  21. I don't really worry too much about what others may think if I do or say something. I just say it or do it as long as I am not hurting someone.
  22. I love the beaches and can never have enough of it. I love travelling as long as it does not entail hairpin bends and winding roads to the Mountains. ( S, can you read that?)
  23. I may forget but I do NOT forgive!
  24. I am short-tempered and am very much aware of it. So when I am angry I just keep quiet lest I say something hurting I may regret later.
  25. I cry very easily; even if I see someone crying...I end up crying without finding out why! I just can't see people sad. So I am good entertainment for people in movies!!
Thanks, Sudha! This was indeed interesting and got me thinking. Anyone interested in doing this tag, please take it up. Do let me know when you do it, I would love to read it! :-)

The Quirks Tag!

Vibhuti has tagged me and for the love of God, I cant understand why anyone would be interested in reading about my Quirks!..ahem, anyway here I go…

  1. When I come back home from work, even if I am dog tired, the first thing I will do, even before I keep my bag down is to straighten the cushions or arrange the strewn newspapers. I am totally obsessed with my home and like it neat, clean and organized. Also, I can never get enough of cushion covers or artificial flowers…it’s almost like an OCD.
  2. I prefer chat / SMS /E-mail conversations to phone calls or direct person-to-person conversations. There is a certain thrill in the virtual world as you don’t what is to come…it is like anticipating for the unexpected, very similar to how Life is! Philosophical, eh?
  3. I don't trust men sporting a full beard ( not french beard, S has one! , I mean the full-faced beard!) and guys who wear kumkum! When I was in college, my professor said candidly that such men are not trustworthy and I blindly believed him! I still do...
  4. I just detest, absolutely detest seeing someone brush their teeth, neither do I let anyone see me brush…I find it extremely gross!!! Why, you ask?...Ahem you asked for my quirks?
  5. My hair has to be soft, silky and shiny everyday!!! On days, I don’t get the time to wash my hair, I imagine I look bad and am all fidgety and all I can think the whole time is that I should have washed my hair today as well, like I am feeling right now!!
  6. When I get some new clothes stitched from the tailor, even if I have like a dozen ( I always have!) to be stitched and even if it means numerous inconvenient trips to the tailor’s shop, I will ALWAYS give only one outfit at a time. I have this intuition that if I give him more than one, he will spoil it! I feel he will lose interest by the time he gets to the second one. Yeah!! Go figure…

Now, its my turn to read other interesting blogs with interesting quirks!

    The Meme rules --
